Removal
Removing a tree in West Texas is considered by some to be unthinkable. However, trees do have a limited life. In the urban environment, trees tend to have a considerably shorter live expectancy than in the forest. The reasons are many.
Insects, disease, wind and other weather phenomenon take their toll, trees are planted or allowed to grow where they never should be; places such as 3 inches from a building or under utility lines. Many people just don't realize how big that tree will get. Since almost all of our trees are planted, proper placement to allow for future growth is critical.
The first objective of TREE LOVING CARE is the preservation and care of your trees. When it has been determined that a tree should be removed, we do that with the same degree of care.
Removing trees can be complicated and difficult. It is certainly easy to see that a large tree in a small enclosed backyard, overhanging a house, patio and flower beds, with 3 utility lines running through the canopy will be much more difficult than the same size tree in a large open front yard.
TLC has the experience and equipment to safely remove any tree regardless of the difficulty.

Stump Grinding
After a tree has been removed, stumps can be from unsightly to dangerous. TREE LOVING CARE has 2 machines that grind those stumps into chips below ground.
The larger machine is generally used for larger stumps and for front yards and other open areas. The smaller machine fits easily through most back yard gates and is used in less accessible places.
Generally we grind the stumps low enough to accommodate whatever landscaping will follow the tree. For instance, in a ground cover bed, we may only grind 3-4" deep, whereas if another tree is to be planted in the same spot, we would want to grind the entire mass of wood.
The chips may be spread and incorporated into the soil or spread as a mulch.
If you wish, we will remove the chips, bring in soil, plant sod or provide other appropriate ground cover.

Mulch & Recycling
What a racket I've got.
I get to charge people for letting me have fun climbing their trees all day. At the end of the day, we chip the small branches, dump it in long windrows, compost it for a year then sell it back to 'em. The larger pieces are cut and stacked for firewood and we get to sell that back to 'em , too. Some of the trunks are hauled to the sawmill (yes, Virginia, there is a sawmill in West Texas) to be milled into lumber.
So far we haven't sold much lumber, but some of it has been made into some nice Christmas presents. Maybe, someday we will be able to make fine furniture out of trees that you grew. In the meantime, we do enjoy climbing your trees.
We will even give you back the mulch. You may have all you want to shovel. If we load it for you, there is a nominal charge and you need to make arrangements. If you want to drive down from New Jersey to get the mulch, that's ok.
